Hey guys!! what up?? This siteis dedicated to my favourite band Sum 41! and also to all the wonderful fans! A lot of the info on this site is rather old, but im getting back into it and trying to update it! Pretty much all of it is still true, just not the latest news. well ill talk to you later cya!

                    BAND BIO.
In 1996 Deryck Whibley and Steve Jocz formed the band Sum 41. The name Sum 41 was picked because they formed the band 41 days into the summer. They added their friend Dave Baksh on guitar and they had another bass player, not Cone. But before their first record deal they had a different bass player but he got in too much trouble so they kicked him out. And a long came Jay McCaslin, always known as Cone(Deryck and Steve gave him that name because he ate so many ice cream cones in highschool!). One day they met up with the lead singer of Treble Charger, Greig Nori, and they asked him to come to one of their concerts. Nori was amazed by their outstanding performance and agreed to become their manager. Island Records signed sum 41  in 1999 and their first cd came out "Half Hour of Power" in 2000. They played at small shows and the big one Summersault, which included performences by Our Lady Peace, The Smashing Pumpkins and Treble Charger. The Following year they relesed their second cd "All Killer No Filler". This became a huge hit, with their singles "Fat Lip/Pain For Pleasure" and "In Too Deep". People just couldn't get enough of them. It was said to be one of the most popular punk albums of 2001-2002. They played concerts(including the one I went to at the Hershey Center in Missisauga, Ontario), and did some interviews. In the year of 2002 the single "What Were All About" (also featured a bit on the cd Half Hour Of Power) came out on the Spiderman soundtrack and that also was a good hit. Then finaly in late 2002 the single "Still Waiting" hit the radio and tv music channels, everyone knew that the album was soon to come, about 2 or 3 weeks later the album was released. They called it "Does This Look Infected?". In late 2003 they are just finishing up some tours and then they are going back into the recording studio. They say that Greig Nori is a very good manager and he isn't THAT strict, he just gets mad when they spend their money on stupid things...lol...but when your in a sucessful band you gotta do that sometimes!
